The help widget is a small frame you paste into your product, where your customers look for help: a help menu, a side panel, a support page. It shows a search box and your five most read articles. A search stays in the frame, and each article opens on your help center in a new tab.
Turn it on
- Open Settings, then Embedding.
- Tick Let other sites show the help widget and save.
- To keep it to your own sites, list them under Only on these sites,
one address per line, like
app.example.comor*.example.com. Left empty, any site can show it.
Paste the code
Under The code, choose Copy code and paste it into your product's page. The code has two parts: the frame, and a small script that makes the frame as tall as what it shows. Without the script the frame stays 520 pixels tall and scrolls inside.
Answer one area first
If your product has areas with their own help, tick their categories under These categories first and choose Update the code. The widget then lists and finds those categories' articles before the rest. Paste a different code on each area's page.
Searches made in the widget count in Activity, then Searches, like the ones on your help center.
