Open Articles and choose New article.
- Type the title. The article's address follows it: an article called
"Reset your password" lives at
/articles/reset-your-password. - Choose its Category. A draft can wait without one, but an article needs a category before it is published, so readers can find it when they browse.
- Write the text. The bar above the text makes headings, lists and links. An article with three headings or more shows them under "On this page" beside the text.
Then choose one:
- Publish now: readers see it at once.
- Save as draft: only your team sees it.
- Schedule…: pick the day and time, in your site's time zone. The article goes live at that moment by itself.
Add more
Under the text, Add opens the fields most articles do without:
- Excerpt: one line shown under the title in lists and search results.
- Tags: words readers search with that the article does not use, such as "receipt" for an article that says "invoice".
- Related articles: up to five, in the order you pick them, shown under the article. With none picked, readers see articles from the same category.
See it as a reader
A draft or a scheduled article opens on the help center for your team only, with a note at the top. Visitors get Page not found until it is published.
